Excellent experience at this centre. Great, calming views in the sub-terranian lake. Cafe bar at either end of the complex. The resource centre is worth a look for an educational view of volcanic life on the island. Also a gift shop upstairs on the way out with reasonably priced goods.

Amazing! Basically a big concert hall dug into a mountain. Really clever cause it makes it sound amazing in there and it's so beautiful! Plus there is the 'rock pool' with the little white crabs, again dug into the mountain. A lovely and unique place to visit

The surrounding area is a national park so relatively unspoilt by development. There are public footpaths to follow through the park to the sea.

The attraction is an underground pool containing unique tiny white crabs.

Gorgeous and peaceful. It is basically a 4 part exhibit: when you enter, you see the cafe. Walk to the LEFT through the cafe, and you'll see a beautiful tunnel cave. Then, walk back and go to the RIGHT of the cafe, and you'll see a small cave lake with unique white crab inside. It's quite peaceful and incredible how clear the water is. Then, you head up the stairs on the opposite side and you will see the man-made pool that is just pretty to look at with neat architecture. Finally, you'll see the large auditorium, built inside a lava cave. Quite incredible and I wish I was able to see some sort of performance there.

The pool is in a collapsed lava tube which is formed when lava flows from an open volcanic vent and the outer layer cools off rapidly solidifying forming a crust on the flow. When the lava stops flowing it all drains out of the crust & leaves an empty lava tube.

The cafe people were nice as well, which is a plus. Make sure you don't mistake a clear part of the water for a safe place to put your foot! Saw that happen twice when I was there haha. Almost happened to me.

Loved the tiny crabs that are unique in the world but could have done without the man made hotel lobby style pool. The juxtaposition of the natural pool with the crabs and this new creation wasn't my cup of tea. If you were hoping for an authentic experience... this isn't it. The coffee shop, the gift shop, and the auditorium make this feel like a tourist trap. Not worth the price of admission.

It's well worth a visit just to walk through this natural historical phenomenon.
